Social Status

Social Vinings : More Like Socialize Vinings

Tired of that groundhogs day feel that comes around every Monday? I have the perfect solution for you. Take a quick peek for food and drink at Social Vinings.

Owned and run by the respected culinary dominatrix Paul (of the former Pano's and Paul's) and his son Patrick, Social Vinings is another feat for Paul and his Great Food Group Inc., but not for all the reasons you think!

Social (as I call it) offers many appealing draws. First, its prime location off of Paces Ferry which runs through the heart of downtown Vinings (only moments away from I-285), and is walking distance from other establishments of the like, Mellow Mushroom, Noche, and the Old Vinings Inn.

Second, the ambiance is beautifully supplied with a huge, sturdy wooden bar (my favorite) in the front room, hanging red and orange lights that hide personal faults for the gathering patrons, and a downstairs white tablecloth dining room to escape the sometimes overwhelming bar scene.

Finally, this place holds a special spot in my heart for two main reasons:
1) Delicious food on all accounts - prices are extremely reasonable and their menu includes everything from sushi, to lobster tails, sliders, to spicy chipolte crawfish dip (see image above!)

2) Social boasts one of the most diversified crowds in the Atlanta food scene. By this statement, I mean that on any given night, with cocktail in hand, you could be surrounded by the largest amount of sassy cougars you have ever seen.

On a slower night (Mondays-Wednesdays) during after work hours, sports fans and lots and lots of guys slam this place to watch various games while eating and putting down beers. Last Tuesday I had the pleasure of being 1 out of 5 women, and there were around 40 people at the bar.

Take my word for it, you need to visit this place at least once - even if it's just to see what I'm talking about!
