The Sweet Brew

My First IPA at Sweetwater Brewery Since Last Summer (2010)
Personally, I can't claim that I am always in-the-know about the best hang-outs, or food spots in town. However, I can say that I do know quite a few of them. Case in point, last Friday's adventure to the Sweetwater Brewery in Midtown Atlanta.

For those of you who may not drink beer (or drink at all), the Sweetwater Brewery opens its doors Monday-Friday 530-730 PM for tours and tastings, all at a reasonable price of 8 dollars (for 8 tickets).

These tickets buy you 8 generous servings of freshly made brew and a chance to mingle with friends, watch a band, or tour the brewery. Considering that I have not been to Sweetwater since last summer, it came quite the surprise that there were hundreds of people flocking, parking, and running, yes, running, to get inside.

I love a good night that includes a sampling of the local brew, but unfortunately, I could have done without the overcrowded and possibly over-hyped Friday night atmosphere. Better luck next time Sweetwater!
